VIDEO: Woman discovers naked man hiding in her trunk, and it only gets weirder from there: 'I'm the son of the pope'

A Canadian woman recently discovered a naked man who had been living in her trunk for at least three days.

For three days, Bethany Corker spent unremarkable time in her car.

Corker — a Nanaimo, British Columbia, resident — recalled that she'd been to work twice, to the grocery store, on a sushi run, and to the gas station.

In that time, nothing seemed amiss.

On the third day, however, Corker said she climbed into her car after a long day at work and heard someone say "Hey."

Corker looked around and didn't see anyone — but quickly realized that the phantom voice was coming from the trunk of her car and suffered an even further shock when she discovered that the disembodied voice belonged to a naked man.

Corker immediately began recording the bizarre interaction and was heard in the video asking the man if he was naked.

"Yes," the man responded, adding that it was a "rite of passage."

He continued, "I'm the son of the pope."

Corker said she immediately phoned the police, who quickly responded to the scene and escorted the man out of her trunk to take him into custody.

It is unclear if the male — who is said to be suffering from "significant health issues" — faces any charges in connection with the stowaway incident.

Police, however, told Global News that the man is getting the help he desperately needs.

Corker believed the man — who was ultimately said to be homeless and suffering from significant mental health issues — climbed into her trunk one evening when she decided to steam clean her vehicle and left the doors unlocked.

According to Canada's Global News, Corker said, “At first I thought someone was playing a prank on me, and then when I realized what was happening, I just kept my phone recording because I wasn’t too sure what was going to happen. I didn’t know who this guy was. I didn’t know if he was dangerous. And he’d been in my trunk for three days and didn’t say a single word.”

She added, "We've been to the grocery store together, we've got sushi together, gas together. We've been to work twice. Not a single word."
