Did Sylvester Stallone reveal that this supervillain will return in ‘Creed II’?
July 28, 2017
You know what they say about “the sins of the father.” Sylvester Stallone has been teasing the return of the Ivan Drago character in “Creed II,” which is slated for a 2018 release.
Played by Dolph Lundgren, Drago is the Russian villain who killed Apollo Creed in the ring in “Rocky IV.” Stallone seemed to hint that Adonis Creed would avenge his father in the upcoming “Creed” sequel, saying in a July 2 Instagram post, “HISTORY WILL ALWAYS REPEAT ITSELF IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER, JUST GOT TO BE READY! ... Sins of the Father....”
Fans are taking Stallone’s social media posts as confirmation. The actor shared an image of two pages of the handwritten working script for “Creed II” – the word “Drago” is there, and Stallone even used the name as a hashtag in the Instagram post.
This week on “Pat & Stu,” Pat Gray, Stu Burguiere and Jeffy Fisher attempted to guess the plot of the movie only knowing these rumors.
“That’s what so great about Rocky. ‘Drago’s going to be in it. OK, here’s the plot,’” Stu said.
Pat thought he knew who was going to win the movie’s big fight based on the characters who will appear and which fighters lost in previous movies.
“You’re not going to lose two movies in a row,” Pat pointed out. “Well, the guy’s a loser. … I’m not watching ‘Creed III.’”
