Hear the eyewitness report from the scene of the terrorist attack on Parliament

Following a gruesome terrorist attack in the city of London today, Chris Salcedo had guest Jack Buckby, Press Officer for British Conservative political party, Liberty GB, live from London, on “The Chris Salcedo Show.”

According to eyewitnesses, a car plowed into pedestrians on the Westminster Bridge, injuring 20, including many French school children there on vacation, after which the assailant got out of the car with a machete and a gun and, allegedly, stabbed one police officer and was shot by another. Four people, including the alleged assailant, have been killed.

Buckby explained how he was near the scene when the attack took place, ironically, filming about the problem of Islam in the UK. Whenthey received news updates on their phones and saw there were shots fired at Parliament, "our immediate thought was, 'Let's go,'" Buckby said. "What happened essentially was a 4x4 was driven across the Westminster bridge. Now that's the bridge that you see right next to Big Ben in Parliament. So there's lots of tourists on there."

Salcedo explained that it was his understanding that it was the gate that prevented the alleged perpetrator from doing further damage and asked for clarification on that, to which Buckby replied, "I actually think it's the railings, but, regardless, it's still a wall."

Buckby then went on to describe how, all throughout London, various concrete barriers have been erected around many areas thought to be obvious potential targets for terrorist attacks. He pointed out that the type of terrorist attacked carried out today is what is exactly what is prescribed in Al Qaeda's magazine, "Inspire," and that the British government has stopped 12 such attacks in the past year.
