Here's the big problem with this professor's outrage at Betsy DeVos over Title IX
September 14, 2017
A community college professor tweeted last weekend about hoping Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos would be sexually assaulted.
DeVos recently announced that she would revisit guidelines on Title IX, a federal law banning discrimination in education. While Title IX was originally designed to protect women from discrimination in sports, in recent years it has been used to undermine due process for students accused of sexual assault or misconduct.
Campus Reform writer Adam Sabes joined “The Morning Blaze” to share the story – noting that DeVos hasn’t made a single change yet and simply announced plans to revise the guidelines that will go through a public comment period.
“I’m not wishing for it...but I’d be ok if #BetsyDevos was sexually assaulted. #SexualAssault #TitleIX,” Austin Community College adjunct professor Robert Ranco said in a tweet that was later deleted.
“No changes have even been made yet, and this professor is already out there saying this,” Sabes said.
