Listen: Here’s how you get a farm ready for winter

When you have chickens, goats and pigs to worry about, preparing for winter can be a lot more involved.

Cam and Miss E have been bracing for the first big freeze of the year by making sure the propane tank is full to keep the house warm; cleaning out the chicken coop; getting the goats situated; and making plans for their pigs. Spoiler alert: Not all of their hogs will survive the season.

“We’ve managed to do most of the stuff that we need to get ready for winter,” Cam said. The pigs have been the “biggest priority” because they have more hogs than they want, but he and Miss E have plans for them.
