Listen: Here’s what you risk when you don’t get enough sleep

We all know exercise and healthy food are essential for living longer – but for some reason, people think they can ignore the importance of sleep and not pay a price.

How often do you hear people brag about not getting enough sleep? Matthew Walker, a sleep scientist at UC Berkeley, spent four and a half years writing a book about the “catastrophic sleep-loss epidemic” that’s contributing to your risks for diabetes, obesity, heart disease and more. People should be getting 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night, but our society sees losing sleep as a negotiable thing or even as a mark of status.

Keith had the headline on today’s “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson.” He offered a possible solution: the “Pause Pod,” a glorified tent invented by the tech industry.

To see more from Doc, visit his channel on TheBlaze and listen live to “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson” weekdays 6–9 a.m. ET, only on TheBlaze Radio Network.
