A Texas man has been charged after allegedly scheming to steal $1.2 million in fajitas over nearly a decade.
Gilberto Escaramilla, a juvenile justice department employee, has been charged with felony theft after it was discovered that hundreds of pounds of extra food have been delivered regularly to the facility. Fajita fixings were reportedly found in his fridge, and authorities said he has been selling the fajita orders to his own customers.
Keith had the Tex-Mex story as part of today’s headlines.
Doc did the math: “It’s $11,000 a month for the last nine years.” He pointed out that Escaramilla’s alleged crime means he not only squandered money from taxpayers but also essentially stole food from wards of the state.
