Obamacare architect admits it's failing -- and blames Trump

The Affordable Care Act is failing, and Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber thinks it’s President Donald Trump’s fault.

Gruber has blamed the failures of the Affordable Care Act on the results of the 2016 election, saying on Fox News Sunday, “Since President Trump has been elected … premiums are going up and insurers are exiting.” When asked why Obamacare insurers are collapsing, Gruber asserted that the ACA worked before Trump “undercut” enrollment, blaming the new administration for rising premiums. Health insurance companies have been leaving the marketplace, and many Americans face a shortage of coverage options.

On Tuesday’s “The Morning Blaze,” Doc Thompson and Kal Elsebai discussed “blissfully unaware” Gruber, who once said the “stupidity” of the American voter helped pass Obamacare. Gruber claimed Sunday that higher premiums for Obamacare last year were a “one-time increase” that fixed problems with underpriced premiums the two years before.

“So basically, they lied. They lied again to make it look like it was more solvent,” Doc asserted. “But Trump is so powerful, within three months of taking office, he was able to — without law being passed — kill Obamacare.”
