Opelka: Hillary would've fired Comey, too

Last night, President Donald Trump fired Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey. The now former director was responsible for the investigation of Hillary Clinton when it was discovered she had classified material on a personal email server. The former presidential candidate has since partly blamed Comey for her loss.

Today on "Pure Opelka," Mike Opelka reviewed many reactions from cable news and late night comics, who all roundly assumed the President fired Comey because he was conducting a counter intelligence investigation of Russia, who may have tried to influence the 2016 election.

The most telling reaction came from CNN's David Gregory, who said during a panel discussion last night of Hillary Clinton "I know for a fact there was some discussion of [firing Comey] when she thought she was poised to win. But she actually got very sage advice that you couldn’t do that because of how nakedly political that would look. Apparently, there’s nobody in the White House who gave that same advice to this president.”

Mike remarked that Trump's firing of the FBI director during this investigation is "bad optics," but he believes it also reflects an administration that does not think solely in political terms, like the Clintons do.
