National Football League Hall-of-Famer Deion Sanders is working with the Koch brothers for a nonprofit project aimed to reduce gang violence and improve education in the Dallas area.
David and Charles Koch are billionaires known for funding conservative and libertarian projects. They’re working with Sanders for Prime 5, a $21 million initiative that will encourage young entrepreneurs, fight addiction and provide other support to at-risk families in and around Dallas.
“We are committed to helping people improve their lives,” Sanders said of the initiative. “This is an opportunity to provoke real change in our community and provide effective assistance to those who live in constant struggle.”
Pat Gray and Stu Burguiere commended the former football star for his dedication to helping people this week on “Pat & Stu.”
Stu noted that it’s even more admirable when someone who doesn’t work with conservatives for a living is willing to take some heat for teaming up with the right.
“I like the idea too that … this is a problem he obviously takes seriously,” Stu said. “He’s willing to say, ‘You know what, I don’t care. The Koch brothers are willing to step up like this, great.’”
