Zuhdi Jasser: Stop the denial – Islamism matters
Thousands of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, known by his nickname Ahok, hold candles to give their support for freedom from the accused of blasphemy in Denpasar, on the Indonesia resort island of Bali on May 11, 2017. Basuki Tjahaja Purnama -- known by his nickname Ahok -- was jailed for two years for blasphemy over comments he made about Islam while campaigning for re-election to the capital of the Muslim-majority nation, a far harsher sentence than had been expected. Zuhdi Jasser: Stop the denial – Islamism matters

This week, join Dr. Zuhdi Jasser for an honest look at what supposed roadblocks prevent American Muslims from advocating for religious liberty.

A recent report interviews former CAIR radical turned religious freedom advocate Ismail Royer and puts the blame on a hostile political climate. Jasser rejected that idea and called upon well-intentioned conservative advocates for religious liberty to stop allowing Muslims to bypass a focus on reform.

Jasser also discussed the new British Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, and talked about how revealing some reactions to his appointment are about the ignorance of some who cannot separate between Muslims and Islamists. Lastly, how un-American is it for a Middle East Studies Association based in Arizona to come to the defense of the ideological legacy of ISIS? Listen to find out.
