Prompted by Chris Christie's Trump-bashing speech at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, earlier this month, "LevinTV" host Mark Levin threw down the gauntlet to challenge the former New Jersey governor to a debate.
During his speech, Christie condemned those in the Republican Party who question the results of last year's presidential election, saying the party needs to "renounce the conspiracy theorists and the truth deniers. The ones who know better and the ones who are just plain nuts."
While he was careful not to name the former president directly, Christie was clearly attempting to distance himself from his one-time ally with a series of thinly veiled criticisms.
"Stop pretending we won when we lost," Christie said, obviously referencing President Donald Trump's claims of election fraud. "We need to give our supporters facts that will help them put all those fantasies to rest so everyone can focus with clear minds on the issues that really matter."
In response, Levin said, "Chris Christie went on an attack against the 'crazies' and others who do not believe the 2020 election was legitimate. I am prepared to debate Chris Christie with respect to one state in particular that I know a lot about: Pennsylvania, my home state. I challenge Chris Christie and Paul Ryan and all the rest of them. I'll debate them all at the same time, doesn't matter to me. The issues that were raised in Pennsylvania had nothing to do with voting machines, had nothing to do with ballots per se, had everything to do with the federal constitution."
