Is being 'WOKE' a sign of mental illness? The Federalist's Joy Pullman shares her theory

The Federalist's Joy Pullmann joined "Stu Does America" to discuss her column equating "wokeness" with mental illness. Joy explains to Stu Burguiere her theory that there is much more to being "woke" than people think.

According to Joy, mental illness and wokeness are difficult for many people to discuss because they do not want to criticize and demonize a political ideology with the mental illness stigma. She explained how a person, who is committed to a false and dangerous idea that hurts them and hurts other people, very often has people in their lives who enable them by going along with the false belief that becomes the person's reality.

"Mental illness is at its core a disconnection from reality," Joy said. She noted that mental illness has many parallels with leftism, which she defines in part as an ideology that declares a "war on reality" and a "war on nature".

Stu concluded the interview with a line from Joy's column: "Wokeness is about creating a nationwide mental hospital of forever patients who never get better."
