Author Brad Meltzer unveils secret plot to kill George Washington
January 15, 2019
'George Washington lives up to the hype'
Glenn Beck sat down in studio with New York Times best-selling author Brad Meltzer to talk about his new book, "The First Conspiracy: The Secret Plot to Kill George Washington."
Meltzer teamed up with television documentary producer Josh Mensch to uncover the shocking true story of two prominent New York politicians who conspired to assassinate George Washington in 1776, during the first few months of the Revolutionary War.
Meltzer and Glenn discussed the true character of our nation's first president and most famous Founding Father, who unlike so many other historical figures, seems to have remained untarnished.
"A lot of time, history is wrong and only tells one side," Glenn said. "I cannot find the dark side of George Washington."
"George Washington lives up to the hype," Meltzer said. "I feel like George Washington sets the standard for us at a different level, which is why the thought of a secret plot to kill him begs the craziest question of all: What happens to us if it worked?"
