Ashe Schow: Campus 'letter on sexual violence' withdrawn

Real Clear Investigations Journalist Ashe Schow joined Dana Loesch Monday to discuss the recent withdrawal of policies set by the following two Obama-era documents:

  • Dear Colleague Letter on Sexual Violence, issued by the Office for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education, dated April 4, 2011.
  • Questions and Answers on Title IX and Sexual Violence, issued by the Office for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education, dated April 29, 2014.

Under these guidelines, college students accused of sexual assault, “weren’t allowed to cross-examine their accuser. They weren’t allowed, in many instances, to provide evidence in their defense or witnesses in their defense,” explained Schow. “In some cases, colleges wouldn’t even tell the accused what the charges against them were or who was accusing them.”
