He talked about jobs': 'Roseanne' revival isn't afraid to speak up for Trump voters

What's going on?

TV's "Roseanne" is back with a 10th season, and the first episode premiered Tuesday night.

Actress Roseanne Barr hasn't been shy about her support for President Donald Trump. In the first episode of the season 10 revival, her character explained why Trump voters were drawn to him.

What did she say?

The Roseanne character didn't agree with everyone in her TV family on politics. In a key scene from the new episode, Roseanne Conner explained why she voted for the president.

"He talked about jobs, Jackie," Roseanne told her sister. "He said he'd shake things up. This might come as a complete shock to you, but we almost lost our house the way things are going."

Glenn's take:

Glenn commended Barr and the show for giving a perspective we don't often see in entertainment. Trump voters feared losing their jobs and their homes and wanted someone willing to fight for them.

"I think she actually spoke to the American people, both left and right," Glenn said on today's show. "She is speaking the words that the media doesn't understand."
