Molly Ringwald is now 'troubled' by 'The Breakfast Club' in era of #MeToo

Molly Ringwald expressed her concerns over the very movies that catapulted her career in the 1980s in light of the #MeToo movement. In a recent essay for the New Yorker, Ringwald says she's now "troubled" by the 1980s films that depict sexually frustrated teenagers and questions whether or not they contributed to the mistreatment of women. Ringwald was reportedly sexually assaulted by a director when she was 14 years old and is now second-guessing the movie's impact in light of a post-Harvey Weinstein Hollywood.
