NowThis shares video of Beto O'Rourke's impassioned speech about NFL protests, and it goes viral

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Beto O'Rourke, incumbent Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz's opponent, delivered an impassioned speech on Tuesday about NFL protests at a town hall in Houston that is sweeping the internet.

NowThis, a video news website,  paired his speech with some melodramatic music and it seems to be energizing folks online. Several celebrities shared the video on Twitter where it now has nearly 8 million views.

On Wednesday, Pat Gray, who has been quite vocal about his displeasure with the candidate, aired the viral video and was baffled by O'Rourke's commentary on racial injustice and NFL protests.

Here's part of the excerpt of O'Rourke's response to a question about whether or not he finds it disrespectful that NFL players kneel during the national anthem:

My short answer is no, I don’t think it’s disrespectful. Here’s my longer answer, but I’m gonna try to make sure that I get this right because I think it’s a really important question. And reasonable people can disagree on this issue, let’s begin there. And it makes them no less American to come down on a different conclusion on this issue, right? You’re every bit as American all the same.

Here's the video published by NowThis:

"This is the douche that people are putting out lawn signs for?" Pat said. "Plus, look how tanned he's trying to be. I mean, is there something going on where he's like really concentrating on the tanning booth?"

Pat then went on to discuss a misleading statistic highly cited on the left that claims blacks are disproportionately targeted and killed by police officers.

"Look into it!" Pat exclaimed.
