Republicans control the government, but they can’t seem to focus on spending and budget reform.
Romina Boccia, fiscal and economic expert at the Heritage Foundation, joined today’s show to talk about the need to reform the Budget Control Act spending caps. Boccia calls the BCA “one of the few mechanisms that control spending in Washington” – but now some in Congress want to increase BCA spending limits.
“How long-lasting can those tax cuts really be if lawmakers don’t tackle spending next?” she asked. “I worry. We don’t see much commitment at all from this Congress for spending reductions.”
