Black cadets at the Air Force Academy Preparatory School in Colorado Springs, Colorado woke up one morning to find a racist message written outside.
In response, Lt. Gen. Jay Silveria gave a speech denouncing bigotry that went viral. But the school has since discovered that one of the black cadets at the academy was responsible for the hate crime, which has been revealed to be a hoax.
“It’s an immature teen who made a terrible decision,” Glenn summed it up on today’s show. He reminded everyone to look at each incident instead of immediately assuming a reported hate crime is fake or jumping on the bandwagon to use it as evidence of racism.
“Some of them are hoaxes. Some of them are real hate crimes,” he said. “Racism is something that affects all human beings, and it is a cancer in ours and any society.”
