Watch: Salma Hayek is the latest actress to share a disturbing story about Harvey Weinstein
December 14, 2017
Remind me:
Harvey Weinstein is an iconic film mogul who produced movies like “Pulp Fiction” and “Shakespeare in Love.” He’s now known as an alleged sexual predator who routinely harassed actresses and has been accused of raping multiple women, and the revelations about his behavior sparked a movement across Hollywood, politics and various other industries to expose sexual harassment and abuse.
What’s happening now?
Actress Salma Hayek is the latest to share her Weinstein story, writing a moving piece in the New York Times about her experience working with him on the film “Frida.”
“I don’t think he hated anything more than the word ‘no,’” she wrote. “The range of his persuasion tactics went from sweet-talking me to that one time when, in an attack of fury, he said the terrifying words, ‘I will kill you, don’t think I can’t.’”
Glenn’s take:
Glenn noted that Hayek’s account probably won’t be the last we hear, and it’s definitely a terrifying example of how serious the allegations against Weinstein are.
“It is clear he made the most important experience of her career a living hell,” Glenn said. “Salma Hayek will not be the last person to add to the mountain of allegations against Weinstein.”
