Watch: Text messages show anti-Trump bias in the FBI, but that's not all
December 14, 2017
What happened?
Two FBI agents who were part of the probe into the Trump campaign's potential ties to Russia exchanged text messages calling President Donald Trump an "idiot" while he was running.
One of the agents is Peter Strzok, who was removed from the investigation in July by Special Counsel Robert Mueller; the second is Lisa Page, whose assignment to Mueller's office had already ended.
Copies of the text messages have been released to the press. In some of the relevant texts, Strzok and Page mocked Trump and praised Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election.
"God trump is a loathsome human....omg he's an idiot," Page said.
Glenn's take:
Glenn talked about the need to investigate not only the Trump campaign's alleged collusion with Russia and the Clintons' involvement in the Uranium One deal, but also the Department of Justice and the FBI themselves. The texts between two FBI agents show more than bias; Strzok and Page also seem to be talking about ways to cover up their support for Clinton while working for the FBI.
"Something is wrong in the DOJ and in the FBI," Glenn said.
