This Is Not Incest': Man Leaves His Wife to Engage in Sexual Relationship With His Mother

"We are like two peas in a pod and meant to be together."

When Ben Ford left his wife to pursue a relationship with the mother he had just met 30 years after she gave him up for adoption, he claimed that their relationship "wasn't incest."

Instead, Ford, 32, and his mother, Kim West, 51, claim that their sexual relationship is a result of so-called "Genetic Sexual Attraction," which is a term used for biological relatives who feel sexual attraction towards each other after meeting as adults, according to the Mirror. The couple's claim and the ethical and biological decisions surrounding it have gone viral since the mother and son's story was featured Friday on the cover page of The New Day:

"This is not incest, it is GSA. We are like two peas in a pod and meant to be together," West told The New Day before adding that their sex was "incredible and mind-blowing."

West, who gave Ford up for adoption when he was just a week old, had not seen or heard from her son until he contacted her in 2013, according to the Mirror. The two began exchanging phone calls, and by the time they met in person, West said that it felt like they had "known each other for years." Soon they began to experience sexual attraction for one another. Although she said that she initially felt confused concerning her attraction to her son, West said that after she read about GSA on the Internet, she felt relieved.

"I know people will say we're disgusting, that we should be able to control our feelings, but when you're hit by a love so consuming you are willing to give up everything for it, you have to fight for it," West said, according to the Mirror. "It's a once in a lifetime chance and something Ben and I are not willing to walk away from."

After Ford informed his wife, Victoria, of his attraction to his mother, he and West flew to Michigan to receive help from another couple who claimed to be living out a GSA life. The two say that they are hoping to have a baby together.

The mother and son's sexual relationship has drawn an array of responses from social media, most of which seem to be negative:
