Mark Levin says Dems should be 'excited' because real 'Russian collusion' has been discovered

Democrats for months have been talking about alleged collusion between President Donald Trump's campaign and the Russian government with meager evidence to support their claims. But conservative radio host Mark Levin says Democrats should now celebrate because real evidence of a "new Russian collusion story" has surfaced.

However, instead of proving the Democratic narrative that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, Levin said on Fox News Monday that evidence has been unearthed to prove that former President Barack Obama colluded with U.S. intelligence agencies to suppress proof of Russian interference in last year's election.

“I think we do have proof of collusion within the Obama administration,” Levin explained to Sean Hannity. “There is [sic] departments and agencies involved in intelligence and law enforcement that colluded to cover this up, to keep it from the American people and obstruct our knowledge during the course of the election."

Levin was referring to a report from The Washington Post that revealed Obama and his administration knew of Russian interference months before the November election took place. In fact, according to the Post, Obama first learned of the meddling in August.

Indeed, even leading Democratic Sens. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) and Ben Cardin (Md.) urged Obama to respond harshly to the meddling in a letter one week before the election.

However, it wasn’t until one month after Trump's victory that Obama even publicly ordered a full investigation into Russian interference. And it wasn’t until almost January, just weeks before Trump's inauguration, that Obama responded to Russia’s cyberattack with increased sanctions.

“Sean, I think we have a new Russian collusion story, which is the collusion within the Obama administration to cover up for [Russian President] Vladimir Putin,” Levin reiterated. “Whatever the reason, that’s what they did. They kept that information from the American people in the course of a presidential election because they thought it would help Hillary [Clinton]."

“We honestly need to get to the bottom of the real collusion,” Levin said. “Now we have collusion. The Democrats should be excited. Collusion has been found. It’s among them."

Levin also explained that “real potential obstruction” has also been uncovered, referring to allegations that former Attorney General Loretta Lynch interfered in the FBI’s criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton and her use of a private email server while secretary of state.

Former FBI Director James Comey testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee earlier this month that during the course of his investigation into Clinton, Lynch directed Comey to not call the investigation an "investigation." Instead, Lynch told Comey to publicly refer to it as a “matter.” This directive, Comey told Congress, made the former director “queasy."

Finally, Levin said that he believes special prosecutor Robert Mueller should expand his investigation to include the activities and actions of the Obama administration.

"I think that special counsel, Mr. Mueller, ought to consider expanding his investigation to include the prior administration, to include their activities with the Russians, to include their activities to cover up for Vladimir Putin,” Levin said.

"And while he’s at it, he may want to include domestic surveillance, which I believe took place, and the unmasking of America citizens,” Levin explained.
