CBS exec 'not even sympathetic' over Vegas massacre: Country fans often 'gun-toting' Republicans

A CBS lawyer is under fire for sharing public, divisive comments on Facebook about the Las Vegas massacre, which killed nearly 60 people and injured than more 500.

What did the lawyer say?

CBS Vice President and senior counsel Hayley Geftman-Gold politicized the Vegas shooting by addressing gun control in a Facebook thread.

According to the now-deleted thread, Geftman-Gold said, "If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs [sic] will ever do the right thing."

Geftman-Gold was presumably referring to 2012's Sandy Hook school shooting, which killed 20 children and six adults.

"I’m actually not even sympathetic bc [sic] country music fans often are Republican gun toters [sic]," she continued.

What was the fallout?

The exec's comments went viral on social media, despite deletion of the comments.

According to Geftman-Gold's LinkedIn page, she began working at CBS in September 2016. She graduated from Columbia University Law School in 2000.

Shortly before this posting, Geftman-Gold deactivated her LinkedIn page.

When contacted for comment, a spokesperson for CBS told TheBlaze, "CBS is looking into the matter."
