Levin: CNN’s lawsuit against Trump over Jim Acosta is ‘very weak’ and ‘ridiculous’

Conservative Review

LevinTV host Mark Levin has examined CNN's lawsuit against the Trump administration and found it's a "very weak case" and a "ridiculous suit."

The network filed a lawsuit Tuesday, after the White House revoked correspondent Jim Acosta's press credentials following an incident in which Acosta refused to surrender the microphone and physically touched a White House aide attempting to take it away from him at a press conference last Wednesday.

"The wrongful revocation of these credentials violates CNN and Acosta's First Amendment rights of freedom of the press and their Fifth Amendment rights to due process," CNN said in a statement.

The White House Correspondents' Association released a statement declaring it "strongly supports CNN's goal of seeing their correspondent regain a US Secret Service security credential that the White House should not have taken away in the first place."

Levin briefly gave his take on the lawsuit in a note published to Facebook.

Levin makes the important point: "No one is preventing Acosta from reporting or CNN from broadcasting."

The government has not locked Acosta up and prevented him from reporting. The government has not told him what to say. The government has not banned CNN reporters in general from the White House.

There doesn't seem to be a constitutional violation here, so what is CNN suing for, other than attention?
