WTF MSM!? Going full concern troll

Going full concern troll …

12 Diet Cokes a day! … While the news was unfolding of the botched jihadi attack in New York City yesterday, CNN pushed a story during breaking news coverage of the event. The network ran with the story the rest of the day. What was so important? DONALD TRUMP DRINKS 12 CANS OF DIET COKE A DAY!!! You think I jest.

CNN took concern-trolling to a new level, presenting the president’s Diet Coke “habit” as a health crisis that could endanger the leadership of the country. President Obama was a smoker. I don’t remember wall-to-wall coverage for an entire day about how that was endangering his health. How can they not understand by now that pettiness like this is why people loathe the media?

This is concerning … Yesterday, more blockbuster news came out about the partisan ties of special counsel Robert Mueller’s team as well as those at the Department of Justice. Fox News reported: “A senior Justice Department official demoted last week for concealing his meetings with the men behind the anti-Trump 'dossier' had even closer ties to Fusion GPS, the firm responsible for the incendiary document, than have been disclosed, Fox News has confirmed: The official’s wife worked for Fusion GPS during the 2016 election.”

The interconnectedness of Fusion GPS, the DOJ, the FBI, Hillary partisans, and the special counsel’s office should be the story of the year. But that story would help President Trump, so most of the media refuses to cover it in full. Sure, they report a piece of the story here or there, mostly in print or online. But the narrative, the daily drumbeat that brings the pieces together, is missing. Not only is it missing, but the MSM protectors of the Left, those whom LevinTV host Mark Levin calls the Praetorian Guard, actively tell their viewers that the stories are meaningless and right-wing conspiracies. They even say those who report on them “are abetting a cover-up.”

It’s what they choose to cover … During the White House daily press briefing yesterday, CNN’s Jim Acosta went after press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders over her assertion that the media purposely lies to the American people to advance an agenda. Sanders won the battle. The exchange revealed the serious disconnect media types like Acosta and his CNN colleague Chris Cillizza have from reality. They live in an alternative world where they think they have no bias. The Diet Coke story, and the refusal to cover with any substance the compromised nature of the office of the special counsel, are bias. They work for a network that oozes so much bias that they can’t even break away from it when faced with an unfolding terror attack.

Behind the curtain …

Uncovering Fusion GPS … As I said above, print and online media are where you will find journalists who are still looking to follow a story wherever it may lead. That includes some folks at the Washington Post. The Post’s Jack Gillum and Shawn Boburg deliver with an inside look at Fusion GPS, how it operates, and its history of shaping the news. It’s a no-holds-barred look at one of the most important actors in the 2016 presidential campaign.

Red-handed … Do you remember the story — since discredited — about servers in Trump Tower interfacing with a Russian bank that came out days before the 2016 election? It was meant to “prove” Russian collusion. The placement of that story is reportedly now linked to Fusion GPS. Therein lay the actual Russian collusion. Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee paid a law firm to hide payments from the FEC that ended up at Fusion GPS, who then hired a former British spy to use contacts close to the Kremlin to find out information that was used in an anti-Trump story in the media days before the 2016 election.

It’s easy for media types to find out who “colluded” with Russia during the 2016 election. All they have to do is look in the mirror.

Another one down … Another media “superstar” was let go due to accusations of sexual misconduct yesterday. This time it was CNN contributor and New Yorker writer Ryan Lizza. The New Yorker fired him, and CNN suspended him. Politico’s Michael Calderone has the full details.
