The United States Senate took a rhetorical stand against President Donald Trump Thursday, passing a resolution defending the press and declaring that the press is "not the enemy of the people."
This nonbinding resolution passed with unanimous consent by voice vote and was introduced by Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

This resolution follows tweets Trump sent Thursday morning criticizing the "FAKE NEWS" media.

It's nice to know the United States Senate called off the August recess to stay in Washington and pass virtue-signaling resolutions offered by Democrats to throw shade at the president.
