Disarming the PC Police by Refusing to Conform

Are you sure you're allowed to say that? You just never know what they will try to ban next.

When is a beheading not a beheading but instead, workplace violence? When is a mass shooting on a military base by someone yelling “Allahu Akbar” not a terrorist attack? Never?

When are we going to say, “Enough is enough” to the politically correct world that we have unfortunately grown accustomed to or at least have come to tolerate?

As a psychotherapist, the one thing I know for sure is that you cannot change a behavior unless you acknowledge it.

We have become too complacent for far too long and have become comfortable with allowing the progressive left to make us believe that we are no longer the intelligent and God-fearing people that America has always been.

It’s time to disarm the PC police and take back our country. Common sense must make a comeback and we must quit allowing progressives to use their handbook against us to silence and change the very culture of the United States.

Political correctness began in the 1970s as a means to bring about “inclusion.” It referenced “language” that could be tempered so that an individual or group wouldn’t feel excluded or offended. It has grown into something far beyond the use of language.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, being politically correct is defined as “conforming to a belief that language and practices which could offend political sensibilities (as in matters of sex or race) should be eliminated.” It also means, “Agreeing with the idea that people should be careful to not use language or behave in a way that could offend a particular group of people.”

Being PC has grown into a monster and has become something it was never intended to be. It now includes, not only the use of language, but practices and behavior. We have allowed the expansion and have made it a weapon that can be used against us.

It’s high time that we began to disarm the PC police and defeat the monster.

The average American has been taught from childhood to treat people with respect. We have safeguards in place that punish those who show disrespect to others.

We don’t need a specific rule that controls our behavior and forces us to conform, typically, to the dictates of a group desiring to bring about change for their own benefit. This change is achieved by making us believe that if we are not in favor of the plan, then we are somehow part of the problem.

Being PC today means that an individual, group, or industry is being silenced by propaganda used in an effort to further an agenda. We have seen this tactic used over and over again by people like Al Sharpton who profits from using race-baiting tactics to cause division between races.

We have allowed being PC to change our behavior in such a way that it works to our detriment and removes common sense from our rational thinking.

Relying on truthful information, even if offensive to another individual or group, is still the truth and must not be ignored. To ignore the facts in order to get along in a PC world not only does a disservice to the individual but to the nation as a whole.

Fifty-four-year-old Colleen Hufford, was beheaded at her place of employment in Oklahoma, allegedly by someone who had recently converted to Islam and who had reportedly been trying to convert his co-workers.

The Obama administration is labeling the incident as workplace violence. Is that accurate or is there some other reason for this description?

Should we accept the government’s definition of a beheading as workplace violence because they want us to believe that? Common sense would tell you that you are not being told the truth.

We begin to lose our grip on reality when we don’t accept the facts, choose not to apply common sense, or live in fear of what others will think.

Eventually, it may even cause someone to lose hope and give up entirely because it is easier than arguing against the progressive left’s point of view.

Also, we often fear what others will say because we worry about not being accepted. Human beings long for acceptance and distain rejection. Swimming upstream against the tide is difficult and brings with it dread that we will be polarized from the group.

Those on the extreme left know that fear and rejection are natural human feelings. That is why they act quickly to reinforce those feelings when a person or group steps out of line with their philosophy.

It’s time to stop buying into the lie. You are not alone in your beliefs. There are plenty of people out there, just like you, who are afraid to say something because they have bought into the falsehoods and are terrified of traveling the road alone.

Many people, who are stuck in their place of fear, are waiting in silence for a leader to step up and declare that the restraints brought about by being PC must be broken.

Become that leader who steps up and points our country back toward the right direction by informing others about an agenda that could harm them.

We must also remind others that they are equipped with common sense and have the ability to spot the truth.

Dismantling the PC lie will require all of us to seek out like-minded people and support from each other, if needed.

Discerning the truth, always treating people with respect, and then moving forward even if it means acting alone to defeat the PC police should become our battle cry.

Start taking the lead by voting in upcoming elections for the best candidate, not the candidate that everyone else convinced you that you should vote for because it was the PC thing to do.

Attend meetings at your child’s school and speak out against what you know doesn’t benefit your child. This may mean that you speak out alone. However, you can also look for other parents willing to support your decision to stand up. Your child needs a leader and you can be that leader.

Consider whether the Convention of States movement would help this country return to a nation in which the People govern and not one in which a runaway government rules over its People. Then spread the word and prepare to vote for it when it is time.

If we don’t start returning to common sense and grasping the truth then we will be convinced that losing everything, including our freedom, is something we’ll just have to get used to.

Never!

I’m willing to stand for truth alone or with my country. Will you stand with me?
