We all remember when Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Democrat, said he couldn’t fathom how Hispanics could vote for Republicans.
Aside from doing what I do at "TheBlaze," I am also the executive director of the Conservative Hispanic Society. At that time, I labeled the extremist left-wing senator from Nevada, “Racial Reid.” It wasn’t the first time this extremist, “Occupy Wall Street,” senator had clumsily ventured into racist waters.
But Reid’s comments were greeted with a collective, “ho-hum,” from the mainstream press. Reid went on to disparage and spread proven lies about Mitt Romney in the 2012 election. Even when shown to have lied, Reid never apologized for making his slanderous accusation on the floor of the Senate.
I didn’t expect him to. One does not expect such gentlemanly behavior from such an anti-American, extremist liberal slob like Harry Reid.

I bring up the extremist leader of senate Democrats to illustrate the double standard demonstrated by the elite press and others, when it comes to their treatment of liberal whites and conservative, so-called, minorities.
Take the case of Maria Conchita Alonso. She is a Grammy-nominated singer, actress and Latina who holds strong views. Alonso is supporting the conservative Tea Party candidate for California Governor, Tim Donnelley. They created expand=1] a web ad that sent left-wingers and sanctimonious moderates through the roof.
You see, Donnelley used to be a Minuteman. These were citizens, tired of Washington’s unwillingness to secure America’s border, who volunteered their time to support the Border Patrol by keeping watch on the southern border. The fact that the Minutemen believed in law and order was enough to get them onto the left-wing’s watch list.
So the hunt for bad news started.

On May 30, 2009, Raul Flores, Jr., 29, and his daughter, Brisenia Ylianna Flores, of Arivaca, Ariz., were murdered at home during a robbery. Both Flores and his daughter, Brisenia, were born in the United States and were American citizens. The convicted murderers were Shawna Forde, Jason Eugene Bush, and Albert Gaxiola. Forde and Bush were affiliated with a Minuteman movement. That was all the left-wing needed.
Because these folks had associated with the Minutemen, the whole movement was tainted by relentless news coverage and left-wingers committed to preventing the rule of law on the immigration front from being enforced by American citizens. This phenomenon isn’t new. We’re witnessing the same, guilt-by-association, tactic being used with the Tea Party movement.
The left’s standards are quite dangerous and quite one-sided.

If biased press held the left to the same standard as they hold conservatives, the following would have been huge stories.
Former National Security Advisor to Bill Clinton, Sandy Berger, pleaded guilty to a charge of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material after he stuffed classified documents into his pants before leaving the National Archives. It was suspected that Berger ripped off the documents, still unrecovered, to protect Clinton’s culpability in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
By Berger’s actions America can assume all Democrats to be thieves and untrustworthy.
Democrat Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas) broke scholarship eligibility rules set by a black lawmakers group and awarded about $31,000 to her relatives and an aide's children. She shortchanged the truly needy to the benefit of her personal circle.
So, by extension we can assume all Democrats are as crooked and callous.
Steve Nunn, the former Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is a convicted murderer.
So, just like the left-wing tried to paint all Minutemen as killers because of the 2009 murders, by their own standards, Democrats are all tainted as well.
This line of reasoning, of course, is sheer idiocy. But this impossible standard dominates newsrooms all over the country. That is why "TheBlaze" is so important.
Unlike the bulk of the press, "TheBlaze" isn’t committed to an extreme left-wing agenda. If picked up by cable operators, "TheBlaze" will treat each story equally. "TheBlaze" will not make the absurd case that the actions of a few, paint the entire movement or group.
And that’s the way it should be. Otherwise, Democrats would have a legacy of overt racism to deal with courtesy of their leader in the Senate, Harry Reid. Maria Alonso is suffering under the left-wing bias for daring to support a conservative. Hear the full interview below:
