Dan Crenshaw issues a challenge to Beto O'Rourke on border enforcement — and it's going viral

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) issued a challenge to Beto O'Rourke about his opposition to the construction of a border wall, and the tweet went viral.

Crenshaw tweeted the question on the night of a counter-rally that O'Rourke was headlining against the pro-enforcement rally headlined by President Donald Trump in El Paso, Texas.

"[Beto O'Rourke] should answer a simple question tonight with respect to the border debate: If you could snap your fingers and make El Paso's border wall disappear, would you?" Crenshaw asked rhetorically.

"Because this DHS graph shows that when the wall was built, illegal crossings dropped significantly," he pointed out.

Crenshaw followed up with other graphs showing how border crossings plummeted in other towns after more border barriers were installed.

The tweets garnered thousands of retweets and "likes" on the social media platform.

Most reports from the rallies put the attendees at the Trump rally far beyond those in attendance at O'Rourke's counter-rally. The president even mocked O'Rourke, saying they had a "tiny little line" for the counter-rally, and that the former congressman probably ended any presidential campaign he was considering.

Some spectators noted that the sound and the music from the Trump rally was so loud that it interrupted O'Rourke's attempt to upstage the president.
