HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities in northern New Jersey say a small plane made an emergency landing on Interstate 80 near Hackensack.
New Jersey State Police say the single-engine plane was headed for Teterboro Airport but was forced to land on the highway because of a mechanical problem.
The plane landed in the eastbound express lanes. No injuries were reported, and it was unclear how many people were in the plane.
State police say part of the road has been closed while investigators check the plane. They say all lanes could be shut down when it's removed.
