Update You've Been Asking For: Ala. Tornado Dog 'Mason' Survives Surgery

"He's doing great, he's happy to see people, he wants to play..."

When we first brought you the story of Mason -- the Alabama terrier mix that crawled home on two broken legs after being tossed about by a tornado -- our inboxes were flooded with messages. Many of you wanted to know how he was doing, if he had survived surgery, and if he needed a home. Now, we have answers to all those questions.

First, from Wednesday, local station WBRC-TV reports on how the surgery went (hint: it involved two plates and 17 screws):

And today, the crew of "Fox and Friends" interviewed the veterinarian, who is happy to report that Mason's family will be taking him back once he's fully recovered and once their house is back in order:
