"The cut isn't just a nick....its more like an amputation."
Senate Democrats are lining up- literally, as you will see- to verbally dismember the "Cut, Cap, and Balance" plan recently passed by the House of Representative.
While Republicans see the plan as a responsible means to end the federal government's rampant overspending, the Senate Democrats are portraying it as a sort of legislative apocalypse. According to them, the plan will end social security, medicare, and America as we know it.

Among the Dems greatest hits so far today:
Sen. Boxer- "It would cut and cap the hopes and dreams of... all of America."
Sen. Harkin- "The cut isn't just a nick....its more like an amputation....this kind of uncompromising ideological extremism has no place in our democracy."
Sen. Schumer- "It would make these drastic cuts while providing constitutional protections for tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires."
President Obama is already threatening a veto. But at some point, the democrats may be in a position where they have to offer their own plan, or at least say what spending they would be willing to cut.
