Watch a Historic, 140-Year-Old Bridge Get Swept Away by Vermont Floods

The Bartonsville Bridge in Bartonsville, VT is a historic piece of architecture. It was built in 1871 and was apparently one of the longest town lattice bridges in Vermont. We say "was" because over the weekend, flooding due to Hurricane Irene wiped it out.

Considering the extensive flooding in the state, this could be just the beginning.
