When Democrats make the claim that Republicans want to hurt seniors with budget cuts running into next year's election, expect the GOP to bring out Mom in their defense. It's a strategy that worked for Rep. Mark Amodei, R-Nev., in 2010 and Republicans will be borrowing a page out of his campaign playbook, according to Washington Whispers columnist Paul Bedard at U.S News and World Report:

[U]sing candidate parents in campaign ads is now a GOP recommendation to Republicans fending off attacks that they would eliminate Medicare by adopting House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan's budget blueprint that calls for massive reforms and potential cuts of the program.
