Service With a Smile: FedEx Worker Caught on Tape Tossing Package Over Fence
December 21, 2011
"The sad part is that I was home at the time with the front door wide open. All he would have had to do was ring the bell on the gate."
Note to self: maybe I shouldn't have ordered those Fabergé eggs online.
A FedEx delivery driver has been caught on closed circuit television throwing what appears to be a computer monitor over a fence. Why he didn't take it to the front door is anyone's guess.
"FedEx has vowed to track down the worker, who can be seen strolling casually up to the railings before his less-than-special delivery of the Samsung branded box," reports Yahoo! News.
[A quick aside: to hear a major company responsible for shipping and delivering literally millions of dollars worth of merchandise say that it has to "track down" one of its own employees doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.]
Although it is currently unknown how the company plans on responding to the employee's behavior, a FedEx spokeswoman hinted that it wouldn’t be good.
"This won't be his best day," she warned.
The YouTube user who uploaded the clip, gooble55, wrote in the description of the video: "The sad part is that I was home at the time with the front door wide open. All he would have had to do was ring the bell on the gate."
"Now I have to return my monitor since it is broken," the YouTube user added.
We may be way off on this, but judging by the distance he gets with that box, and his decision to throw it without even a moment's hesitation, we are fairly certain he used to be an airport baggage handler.
Everything I thought I knew about FedEx employees was a lie.
