Michelle Obama has finally succumbed to Twitter temptation -- sort of -- finally starting her own account with the handle @michelleobama.

The #Obama2012 campaign staff launched Mrs. Obama's Twitter account on Thursday but have stated that they will be making the updates, except ones signed "-mo", which will be from the first lady herself. Mrs. Obama already has more than 148,000 followers in less than a day, and she's made two tweets.

President Barack Obama welcomed his wife to Twitter via tweet as well:

According to Fox News, prolific tweeters such as Maria Shriver and Ellen DeGeneres also shared some twittersphere warmth to Mrs. Obama's arrival.
