This Is the 'Law & Order: SVU' Episode That Features Occupy Wall Street
January 20, 2012
"...a conspiracy that goes far beyond angry youths protesting injustice in a public square."

If you stretch your mind back to early December, you may remember that "Law & Order: SVU" filmed a special Occupy Wall Street episode at Foley Square (near Zuccotti Park) in New York City -- well, at least they tried to.
The protesters, of course, didn't like that their movement was being exploited for corporate (a.k.a. Hollywood) gain. So, they did what they're best known for -- they Occupied the set.
Despite their best efforts to stop the production and in light of the fact that the City of New York did inevitably clear out the park -- set crew and protesters, alike -- the Occupy "Law & Order" episode was inevitably completed. It aired this past Wednesday.
The Huffington Post has more:
The episode, titled "The Official Story," tackles the sexual assault of a high profile CEO of a military contractor corporation; he's found beaten and bruised in Central Park. It turns out the crime -- and the coverup -- is tied to a conspiracy that goes far beyond angry youths protesting injustice in a public square. One of the protestors they question admits to threatening and verbally assaulting the CEO, though not carrying out the actual crime.
Metro described the episode as follows:
...producers were eventually able to pull it off...as seen in last night's gripping episode about a rape brushed under the rug by a shadowy "armed security" company. The CEO of the company is served up a little street justice in response to the brutal sexual assault of one of his employees while she was working in Iraq.
Below, see a clip from the show:
And here's the entire episode. Notice that the movement is identified by name:
This, of course, is not to be confused with "Shariah Law & Order," a very different program featured on GBTV's “B.S. of A."
