Santorum Glitter-Bombed by Occupy Charleston After SC Speech

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has distinguished himself in the GOP primary by appealing to conservative-minded blue-collar voters, separating himself from rivals like Mitt Romney who many commentators expect would be hammered on in the general election as a supporter for and part of "the 1 percent." Despite often referencing his labor roots from western Pennsylvania mining country, Occupy Charleston still doesn't like him.

Members of Occupy Charleston "glitter-bombed" Santorum at the tail end of his post-primary speech at the Citadel Saturday night.

MSNBC reports that the occupiers were mostly College of Charleston students, and shouted "Occupy!" whiling throwing green glitter in the direction of Santorum.

Glitter-bombing is a form of protest carried out by extreme LBGT activists against opponents of same-sex marriage, and has become fairly commonplace throughout the campaign. Santorum was first glitter-bombed on January 1 in Iowa, and there have been previous attacks on Newt GingrichMichele Bachmann, and  former candidate Tim Pawlenty.

The protester was escorted out of the auditorium after being pushed away from the presidential candidate. Live 5  caught the glitter-bombing and ensuing scuffle on video:
