As the word nomad implies, they are a people that won't be stopping in one place for a long period of time. But like all humans, still need shelter from the elements.
Enter the ger --pronounced gair according to producer Dan Grossman. A ger is an easily transportable and quick to set-up mobile home.
Watch as Mongolian nomads put up the ger in this time-lapsed video:
According to Grossman's description on YouTube, the ger -- the Russian version of which is called a Yurt -- was moved by the family to Lake Hovsgol near the Russian border in Mongolia. The whole process takes the family a little more than an hour, but Grossman brings it to you in just over two minutes in his film "The Nomad's Ger: Mongolia's Instant House".
