In the pantheon of awkward moments, Thursday's exchange between Rick Santorum-backer Foster Friess and MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell just might take the cake...and then some.

In speaking about contraception, Friess nostalgically reveled in a time when all that nonsense was "a lot easier." To his recollection, women used to simply use aspirin -- though, not in the conventional way:
Well, I get such a chuckle when these things come up. Here we have millions of our fellow Americans unemployed, we have jihadists camps being set up in Latin America which Rick has been warning about, and people seem to be so preoccupied with sex that I think it says something about our culture. We maybe need a massive therapy session so we can concentrate on what the real issues are.
