Speaking at a Florida fundraiser on Tuesday President Barack Obama said he's taking attacks on patriotism off the table this election season.
"I’m a firm believer that whether you’re a Democrat or a Republican, that you’re a patriot, you care about this country, you love this country. And so I’m not somebody who, when we’re in a political contest, suggests somehow that one side or the other has a monopoly on love of country."
Likewise, in the course of the Republican primary Mitt Romney has bent so far backward to not call Obama a "Socialist" he probably has a hernia.
