Romney is ready to be boring

It's unclear just how much effort Mitt Romney has put into getting people to like him. When he runs around making small talk by guessing people's ages (almost always wrong) and commenting on the heights of trees, it's really hard to believe he tried at all.

Whether he has or he hasn't, the campaign looks like it's giving up. A report in The Daily says Team Romney is giving up trying to make people actually like the candidate.

Facing an incumbent president who remains personally popular despite sluggish job-approval ratings, top Romney strategists have decided it's better for voters to see Romney as a competent Fix-It Man who will turn things around — whether they like him or not.
