Obama smacks Fox News... again

President Obama's disdain for the Fox News Channel has been well-documented, most notably during the health care debate when he encouraged people to avoid cable news programs that opposed his policies. Well, he's back at it.

During a campaign stop today in Virginia Beach, President Obama insisted he was being honest about his record, despite what Fox News might say:

In Virginia Beach today, President Obama highlighted elements of his plan for tax policy, reminding supporters that he “cut taxes” in his first term.

After telling supporters to spread the news of his record of cutting taxes to friends and family members, Obama added, “In case of friends like Uncle Jim who watch Fox News.. let’s be clear, I’ve lowered taxes.”

Obama reminded them that if Republicans in Congress didn’t act, everybody’s taxes would go up at the beginning of 2013.

I have to say, I don't think the public will accept such petty jabs as much as they did back in 2009 and 2010.  The president has failed to deliver on promises to improve the economy and create jobs and the public's tolerance for such nonsense attacks on a cable news station is much lower than it used to be.  If I were Obama, I'd tread lightly -- charm isn't going to win too many votes this time around.
