Approval for Mitt Romney on Libya incident is lowww [Pew, 9/17]: Forty-five percent of Americans approve of Obama's handling of the attacks on the U.S. embassies in Libya. On the other hand, 26 percent approve of Mitt Romney's comments on the incident. High support for I.D requirements [Rasmussen, 9/18]: "81% of Likely U.S. Voters think individuals must prove they are legal U.S. residents before receiving government services here."
The horse race [RCP average, 9/18]: An average of national election polls shows Obama leading Romney 48.4 to 45.5 percent.
