MSNBC's Brzezinski on Todd Akin: 'He's not manly

On MSNBC's Morning Joe today Sen. Claire McCaskill was on to talk about her Senate race opponent Todd Akin's recent remark that she was more "ladylike" in her past campaign.

"I hope this motivates my supporters even more. It seems to have," McCaskill said, being fairly discreet on the subject.

Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski jumped in to unload. "I'm gonna say it because my favorite senator can't," Brzezinski said. "Todd Akin, seriously, is -- it's disturbing. Talk about unladylike. Let me just say that he's not really, truly, manly. He's not a man. A real man understands the way a woman's body works. And understands what legitimate rape is. A real man would not comment on a -- my god -- a female senator's debate performance as unladylike behavior. He's a joke. He's not a gentleman."

In August Akin faced fire from both Democrats and Republicans for saying that "legitimate rape" does not result in pregnancy.
