President Obama, Mitt Romney locked in Ohio, Virginia [Rasmussen, 10/5]: Likely voters are statistically split even in swing states Ohio and Virginia. In Virginia, Romney is one point ahead, 49 percent to Obama’s 48. The President leads in Ohio, 50% to Romney's 49.

Obama wins debate... on social media [Pew, 10/5]: "On both Twitter and Facebook, the conversation was much more critical of Mitt Romney than it was of Barack Obama. And when the criticism of one candidate and praise of another are combined, the conversation on Twitter leaned Obama's way. On Facebook it was something of a draw."
