See What Makes This Incredible Time-Lapse of the Grand Canyon Almost as Good an Actual Visit
October 12, 2012
"Our goal was to show the scope of the Grand Canyon to those who haven’t had the fortune of visiting..."
This time-lapse represents seven weeks and more than 80,000 pictures worth of the Grand Canyon compiled into a slightly more than five-minute video.
Created by GOTM Films, "Blink of Time" shows you pretty much all there is to see of the impressive formation, plus some other bonus features like a solar eclipse.
"Our goal was to show the scope of the Grand Canyon to those who haven’t had the fortune of visiting this natural wonder," GOTM wrote in its Vimeo description. "Using time lapse allows the viewer a glimpse into the Blink of Time we spent making this film."

The footage was taken in April through June 2012. The filmmakers pointed out that the video also features a couple shots of Horseshoe Bend, not of the Grand Canyon itself, because they "felt it was appropriate to include these shots into the film because the colorado river is a main staple of the Grand Canyon."
