Congressman and Army veteran Allen West (R-FL) has an almost unmatched ability to maintain his dignified demeanor while calling out his opponents in the most cutting of terms. Now, the House Majority PAC is targeting him in an equally aggressive ad, though some are saying the allegations don't particularly ring true.
What's the gist of the ad? Basically, that Allen West wants to control "who lives and who dies" because he opposes funding for embryonic stem cell research.
The video begins with three characters-- a soldier, a mother, and a daughter-- who each say what terrible things will happen to them in their lives.

"I'm serving in Afghanistan. Next month I'll be in a convoy accident, and I'll be paralyzed for the rest of my life," the soldier states.
The woman adds: "In twenty years I'll have Alzheimer's. I won't recognize my husband or my kids."
"Next week my mommy and daddy are going to find out I have diabetes," the little girl intones.
Then, the three all hold up large photos of Allen West, saying in turn: "This is Representative Allen West. He's running for congress. He opposes embryonic stem cell research. Is he a doctor? Is he a scientist? Why would Mr. West bet my life that he knows best?"

The three then each say, "help me," before saying "maybe" they're your mother, grandson, or little girl.
"Embryonic stem cell research could save lives-- maybe yours, or your family's, someone you love..." the man says says in an inspirational tone. But then his demeanor changes, and with a scornful look he adds: "Only, Congressman West says no."
The little girl concludes: "How come he gets to decide who lives and who dies? Who is he?"
